Review : Sleek makeup i-Divine Candy Collection Palette

I have been eye-ing this palette for a while now but I was afraid the colors wont be as pretty and itense as shown in the photos, but I obviously gave in and I was not disappointed.

The box looks good enough to eat and I couldn't resist any longer...

The palette has 12 colors, like all sleek eyeshadow palettes. There are different finishes including mattes, shimmers and frosts.

Right to left :
Flump : Matte purple which I really love
Pear Drop :  Acid green with a satin finish
Apple Sour : Frosty mint green
Cream Soda : Frosty white shade
Mint Cream : Satin mint green
Bubble Gum : Bright matte azure blue

Right to left :
Parma Violet : Matte deep purple
Bon Bon : Shimmery carnation pink
Strawberry Sherbert : Hot matte pink with a hint of sparkle
Aniseed : Peachy pink with golden shimmer
Blue Fizzle : Satiny navy blue
Liquorice : Matte dark grey...I guess?

the swatches are applied over Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

Here's a look I did using Cream Soda in the inner corner, Flump on the lid, Parma Violet in the crease, Licorice to darken the crease and Strawberry Sherbert to blend out Parma Violet.
I used NYX shadow pencil in Milk as a base and I was really impressed with the color pay-off
and the staying power. Sleek makeup never fails to impress me.

M.A.C Fall/Winter 2013-2014 Make-up Trend

This season it's all about wearibilty and elegance, something that has been suprising me on the runway this fall. I am loving the strong brows, wine lips and feline eyes. You can't go wrong with these trends because they seem effortless yet sophisticated.

On a seasonal basis, M.A.C sets 4 trends that usually dominate the fashion shows and give us (make-up artists and enthusiasts) a great idea of what colors to wear and what textures to experiment with. So without further ado, here are the M.A.C Fall/Winter 2013-2014 make-up trends.

  • Reb-Elle
It's gritty, unpolished and downright dirty!  This is my favorite trend this season, definately punk/grunge inspired, it's this lack of perfection that made me love make-up in the first place.

Now the easy way to recreate this look is by smudging eye kohl all over the lid and on the lower lashline, then topping it off with a greyish black eyeshadow with a slight shimmer or a blackened burgundy eyeshadow. The lips are minimal as the the eyes are the focus of the trend.

  • Spiritual-Eye

This trend reminds me of  the make-up I wore last Halloween! I'm not saying that it's excessive or crazy but it definately has a haunting feel. With porcelain skin and a soft plum or light taupe eyeshadow , you will give Bella a run for her money.

Now this easy to achieve, apply your favorite matte foundation and some eye primer. Then choose a cool toned mushroom or taupe and apply it all over the lid making sure to blend the edges very well.
Add a jewel-toned burgundy or green to the lower lash line and smudge away!

  • Au-currant
This trend is all about a bold colored lipstick which some might find intimidating but I honestly don't. To bring out the lips, the eyes were left bare , also the skin appears to be mostly pale without blush or contour. I've also noticed that the lips were not lined and the edges were slightly smudged which made them look wine stained ,as most of the color was concentrated at the center of the lips.

  • Perspex-Tive
Lastly, this trend experiments with how skin high-lighting picks up light giving it that acrylic or shellac-like look and adds diminsion to the face, hence the name. Along with the subtle peachy toned lips/cheeks and minimal eye make up, it's quite wearable and fresh.

I hope this blog inspired you as it has inspired me and thank you for reading.
